Annie Waller

Lead Artist

Annie is a freelance dance practitioner with 15 years of experience working in community and inclusive settings. She graduated from the University of Surrey in 2009 with a BA (Hons) in Dance and Culture and worked with Magpie Dance from 2006, progressing from volunteer to facilitator in 2012, delivering inclusive dance across community and healthcare settings throughout Kent and Sussex. Since 2019, Annie has worked with Parable Dance, facilitating our programme of weekly classes, outreach projects and the online mentoring scheme. Annie completed a one-year internship with Trinity Laban’s Learning and Participation Department in 2013 and was Dance School Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover) at the Royal Academy of Dance in 2014. She is a qualified Dance for Parkinson’s practitioner and has launched Dance for Cancer classes in Brighton in partnership with the Macmillan Horizon Centre. Her practice is centred on dance for health and wellbeing, and she is the founder of Wellness Dance, delivering accessible, inclusive dance experiences rooted in this ethos.
