Josie Sovegjarto

Associate Artist

Josie is a community dance artist and yoga teacher based in Worthing. Since graduating from the University of Roehampton fifteen years ago, she has developed extensive experience in community arts and wellbeing teaching across Sussex, Surrey, and London. Josie spent many years in the Dance department at The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon, eventually running the Community Arts department and leading projects ranging from workshops and shows for families at Camp Bestival to dance and theatre education in Pondicherry, South India. She has also worked with MIND, Chickenshed Theatre, and SLiDE Dance. After leaving BRIT, Josie worked as an animateur for Rambert, supporting their education programmes, and as a freelance teacher has worked with Dance Umbrella and Trinity Laban. Josie holds a PGCE in Secondary Dance from the University of Brighton and a postgraduate certificate in Dance Movement Psychotherapy from the University of Roehampton.
